Over the past few years Suyam Charitable Trust has had some success in preventing child labour.
One of the most significant developments has been the enrollment in schools of majority of children in Palavedu Panchayat . On top of that, we were able to place twenty children from the street dwellers community in Kilpauk at SET Anne's School for Excellence, of whom 16 are now in Siragu.
Morevoer, we conducted over 30 free personality development programs for corporation schools and children's homes to counsel the students to stay in school.
We also monetarily supported 20 students to pursue higher education, who will soon be qualified nurses, accountants, computer engineers, electrical engineers, physical assistants and pharmacists. Gnana Soundari, from a very poor family is now a lecturer earning Rs. 8000 and is supporting her family and her brother's education. Navamani, a physically challenged girl, passed B.Sc. Computer Science with distinction and is looking for employment. Udaya Kumar, completed B.Sc. Computer Science with First Class and is looking for full time employment.
In the Palavedu Pettai community the empowerment programs have helped families start their own business to help take care of their children.
10 families haven benefitted so far from our de-addiction programs.
We monetarily supported surgery for two patients who had renal failure, and provided post-operative care to many others.
We have motivated many people to think and act in socially conscious ways, and motivated many school and college students to become volunteers. We have also helped many other individuals and groups start their own organizations.

We counselled around 1100 students in Corporation High Schools in Seven Wells School , Wall Tax and Chindadripet and in Corporation Higher Secondary School in Alwarpet.

We provided education to 9 students: Gnana Soundari (B.Tech.), Jabin Fathima (Dip. in Comp. Tech.), Silambarasan (Dip. in Comp. Tech.), Mahalingam (B.A. Eco.), A. Usha (B.Sc. Nursing), Udaya Kumar (B.Sc. Comp.), Navamani (B.Sc. Comp.), Devika (B.Sc. Nursing) and Uma Mageshwari (General Physical Assistant).

We adopted Mahalingam (child labour accident victim) [Link to Mahalingam] and Raghu (muscular dystrophy disorder)
We donated 10,000 tablets (each person 2 tablets per day for 30 days) to homes and individuals
Assistance to the physically challenged
Was provided to 61 persons
In our Child labour program
We provide education in Siragu to 50 children from brick kilns; rescued 1 child working in handloom industry in Kanchipuram (at present she is studying in night school), and 1 child from steel factory in Wall Tax Road (at present he is studying in Corporation Middle School, Amman Koil Street)
Eco friendly activities
Was conducted in 7 grounds in Palavedu Pettai, and trying to promote environmental consciousness and organic farming.
